INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM
ALEC‘s Institutional Membership Program (“IMP”) is made up of seven types of affiliation. Through the IMP, the Main University (“University”) is able to achieve its goal of becoming the premier world provider of higher education.
Available Affiliations
• Branch Campus: The Branch Campuses are responsible for representing the University in name, academic offerings, and day-to-day practices. The Branch Campuses is able to offer all of the courses and programs offered by the University. The Branch Campuses have access to all necessary the University curricula; textbooks, study guides, and multi-media, as well as synchronous and asynchronous lecture materials via Online delivery, etc…
• Online Studies Division: The Online Studies Division affiliation affords higher education providers the opportunity to offer courses and programs via the Internet, in addition to their other educational offerings. The actual Online courses and programs are maintained by the University on its own Internet servers. The University provides Online delivery and content, while the affiliate provides and manages the students.
• External Studies Center: The External Studies Centers are correspondence course providers. The University provides its curricula and textbooks for delivery via correspondence courses. The provider markets the courses and programs, enrolls the students, collects the tuition, and grades the students’ work.
• Seminar & Workshop Division: The Seminar & Workshop Division affiliation provides University approved academic seminars and workshops to the general public. These seminars and workshops generally take place on weekends or evenings. The normal length is from one day to two weeks. The University issues semester credit hours for completion of these seminars and workshops.
• Corporate Training Division: The Corporate Training Division is responsible for providing University courses and programs to private and public businesses onsite. The major focus is on Hospitality Management, Gaming, Fitness Centers, Management, Travel Agencies, and Marketing.
Membership Benefits
• Name Usage: As a Member Institution, the affiliated institution shall be afforded the right to use the University’s name and be known as a Member Institution of the University. The affiliated institution may elect to continue to use their current institution name (recommended for institutions that have been in business for more than 10 years, or institutions with name recognition in a large market), or to forego the current institutional name altogether.
• Diploma Issuance: As a Member Institution, the affiliate institution is required to provide instruction per the University’s predefined curriculum. Following certification by the Member Institution of satisfactory completion, the University will issue the respective Certificate, Diploma, or Degree. All issued documents are sent from the University to the respective Member Institution for final presentation to the student.
• Transcripts: Member Institutions are required to provide a record of all grades earned by students enrolled at the Member institution in accordance with predefined requirements. The University will issue “Official” transcripts to all students upon completion of their studies. This “Official” transcript is sent to the Member Institution for final presentation to the student.
• Curriculum: Depending on the type of affiliation a Member Institution elects to hold, the Member Institution is afforded the opportunity to offer programs of study at the following levels:
