Multimedia-Based Curriculum, also called “Computerized” curriculum, refers to curriculum that is delivered via CD-ROM and requires the use of a personal computer (but does not require access to the Internet).
Like Workbook-Based Curriculum, Multimedia-Based Curriculum is designed to be self-paced, allowing students to progress at their individual learning speeds. All of the textual materials, assigned activities, independent hands-on projects, review questions, and exams are incorporated into the Multimedia-Based Curriculum. However, because the Multimedia-Based Curriculum is delivered via CD-ROM, all courses incorporate graphic-rich multimedia (e.g., movies, maps, timelines, learning games, et cetera), and interactive projects to captivate students interest and increase learning..
Unlike the Workbook-Based Curriculum design, the Multimedia-Based Curriculum utilizes multimedia content to engage students to learn while reinforcing the skills needed within today’s highly technological society.
